Lets start building
As a starting point for the build I created all the pages I needed in Hotglue by using my site map drawing as a guide. I set my homepage as the startpage so it would be the first page shown to visitors.
I opted to build my portfolio website using the custom code feature in Hotglue. I felt this gave me more control over the build and I was able to change the style of all pages using a single stylesheet.
Once I had coded the main pages I was able to start adding content to give the website some shape. As I was adding the content I was thinking about the tone and message I was trying to put across to my audience, keeping everything clean and consistent.
The last thing on the list was to take some photos for my main image. As I was growing a beard for Movember and I was looking rather hobo(ish) my son and I took the camera out and decided to have some fun.
After all the planning it was great to finally see the finished website. It was exactly as I pictured it when I sketched the first wireframe.
